Ealing Adult Learning service continues to deliver courses through its online offer. We will deliver lessons and support learners through the use of Google Education suite, Zoom, Skype and other digital platforms. 

Our 2020-2021 Prospectus is now available, however there will be major changes to the way we can provide these courses in the Autumn Term.  

For the moment, all our courses will be delivered online, however, we are making very careful plans to ensure that we will be ready for classroom delivery as soon as we can.  The safety of staff and learners is our top priority and we will continue to follow Government and Public Health England advice on social distancing. 

Covid Response Courses - We have planned a wide range of FREE courses with a focus on supporting learners back into employment, re-skilling and promoting health and wellbeing.  If you have been directly impacted by Covid 19, e.g. furloughed, made redundant, at risk of redundancy or redeployment, please type FREE in the search button to view our list of courses.

To participate in online classes you will need an email address, a reliable internet connection, a computer/laptop/tablet/mobile phone with fully updated browser (preferably Google Chrome).  Your device will need a microphone and preferably a camera.

There are 4.2 billion active social media users and those users spend an average of 2.5 hours on social channels daily. This time on social media provides an incredible opportunity for small businesses to; build brand awareness, develop customer relationships, and make sales directly within social platforms. This workshop will give small business owners the skills they need to grow their business using Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter and TikTok.  

Aims of the course
To help business owners to use a range of social media platforms and the right content to build brand awareness, develop customer relationships, and generate sales.

What you will learn on this course
Understand which social media platforms are right for your business and why Identify your social media audience and expand it How to engage with your social media audience and build relationships Tools to generate conversions and sales with social commerce How to use scheduling and automation to free up more time for engagement Track and refine your performance Create an effective social media strategy to grow your business Develop a target audience and how to grow your social media followers How to use apps and automation tools to enhance your content Create engaging social media content to deliver your marketing objectives

A good level of spoken English, basic IT skills and experience using the internet

How you will learn on the course
This workshop will be held on Zoom/Face to Face. You will be sent appropriate joining instructions. Once you have joined by Zoom, please turn on your camera. Physical activity checklist: Mandatory for all types of physical activity courses. Please complete (before the start of your course) and return to This will help the tutor to ensure that the exercises are designed for your needs if you have any health conditions. Case studies, tutorials, practical exercises, individual & group tuition, demonstrations, individual and group critiques, peer to peer discussion, personal research.

Assessment method
This is a non-accredited course, however, a certificate of attendance will be provided. There will be continuous assessment of your work throughout. Your tutor will give feedback during class and at the end of the lesson.

How much additional time do you need?
Implement the methods learnt in class, for discussion and feedback in the next lesson. You are encouraged to spend time identifying the areas of support needed for your business, to ensure the course content is relevant.

Resources, materials & additional costs?
No additional costs. A notepad and pen are required. Access to the internet outside of class would be beneficial. No other resources are required. Where possible, bring marketing materials from your business for review during class.

Atlyn has over 20 years of marketing experience in a variety of sectors including, tourism, luxury brands, housing, publishing and financial services. She has a BA in Design and Media Management and is the founder of ALF Marketing and the Culture Club ecommerce shop. She currently manages insight and market research for a financial services company and supports a range of clients with their marketing.
