Description

If you're interested in health and social care, you've come to the right place. Whether you want to move up the career ladder or simply have a personal interest in caring for others, our health and social care courses can help you make a difference.  

Aims
This qualification develops a basic knowledge of the adult social care sector. It covers the type of job roles and services within it, the role of communication and the importance of valuing the individuals being cared for. You will achieve 6 credits under this qualification.

What you will learn on this course
You will achieve 6 credits under this qualification. This includes; 1. Introduction to the adult social care sector. (1 credit) 2. Introduction to the values and principles of adult social care. (1 Credit) 3. Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in adult social care. (1 Credit) 4. Awareness of communication in adult social care. (2 Credits) 5. Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the adult social care worker. (1 Credit)

How you will learn on this course
It will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning. - Portfolio - Group Work - Doing research - Classroom activities

Extra hours
We recommend that you do independent learning, regular revision of vocabulary, verbs and other grammar is highly effective. Research will be set every week and will be corrected by the tutor. You will also be given a list of useful internet resources which will support your out of class practice. If you have not got time to do any additional work between classes, you will still be able to complete the course but you will make less progress than learners who do.

You will need to provide: - Pen and paper - Access to a computer or laptop with good wifi connection. You will also get: - Handouts - A resource list with useful websites

The Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care or the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
